Cookie Policy
Which cookies and similar storage image2img uses, and how to control them.
Last updated Oct 27, 2026
This policy explains how image2img.net uses cookies and similar technologies such as local storage. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data more generally.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Local and session storage work in a similar way. They help a site remember who you are, keep you logged in and count how a site is used.
Cookies and storage we use
Needed to run the site
- Anonymous device cookie (
anon_id). Lasts 12 months. Lets us count your free images for the day, even when you are not logged in, and keep your work together. It does not identify you personally. - Login session cookie. Keeps you logged in after you sign in. If you use "Continue with Google", Google may also set its own cookies on its sign-in page.
- Security checks. Our bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) may set cookies or similar data to tell people from automated traffic.
- Interface preferences. For example, whether a side menu is open.
- Your cookie choice (
i2i_consent). Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we do not ask you again. It lasts 12 months and holds no personal data. - Session storage in your browser. Remembers short-lived choices for the current tab, for example that you already saw the login prompt, and keeps your work while you log in. It is cleared when you close the tab.
Analytics
Google Analytics is loaded, and its cookies are set, only after you press Accept. Microsoft Clarity always loads, but until you press Accept it runs in a cookie-free mode: it stores no cookies and counts each page view separately. If you press Reject, or have not chosen yet, it stays in that mode.
- Google Analytics 4 sets cookies such as
_gaand_ga_*to measure visits and how the site is used. - Microsoft Clarity shows us how pages are used, for example with clicks, scrolling, heatmaps and session replays. Without your consent it sets no cookies. After you press Accept it sets cookies such as
_clckand_clskto link repeat visits from the same visitor. Form fields are masked and your photos and prompts are not sent to Clarity.
Payments
Paid plans are bought on a checkout page hosted by our payment provider (today Stripe or Creem). That page (for Stripe purchases, the Stripe or Link checkout page) is provided by the processor and may set its own cookies, which are covered by the processor's cookie policy. We do not load the processor's scripts on image2img.net.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share cookie data for advertising. Analytics cookies come from Google and Microsoft only when you accept them. Their cookies may last up to 2 years (Google Analytics) or 1 year (Clarity), and the providers describe them in their own policies.
Your choice
The first time you visit, we show a banner with two equal buttons: Accept and Reject. Google Analytics loads, and analytics cookies are set, only if you press Accept. Necessary cookies do not need your consent because the site cannot work without them.
You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings in the footer of every page. If you switch from Accept to Reject, we delete the analytics cookies we can reach and reload the page so Google Analytics stops running and Clarity returns to its cookie-free mode. We ask again if this policy changes in a way that needs a new choice, and in any case after 12 months.
Managing cookies
You can delete cookies, block them, or ask your browser to warn you before they are set, using your browser settings. You can also use a content blocker to block analytics. If you block the anonymous device cookie or the login cookie, parts of image2img may stop working, for example the daily free count and staying logged in.
Do Not Track
Google Analytics does not run unless you accept, and Microsoft Clarity runs only in its cookie-free mode on a first visit or after you reject. We do not respond to a browser's Do Not Track signal in any other way.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
